History of HMA Group
HMA Group was established in 1960 by the late Mohammad Ashiq, initially focusing on the live trading of buffaloes. After 25 years in this sector, the company expanded into carcass processing for both domestic and export markets in 1985. In 2005, HMA Group launched an integrated abattoir and meat processing plant, which began operations in 2008. Following this, a second integrated facility was established, enabling the company to start exporting meat globally. The third such plant was inaugurated in 2014, marking further growth.
In 2015, HMA Group diversified into fish exports, and by 2017, it had become India’s second-largest exporter of buffalo meat. The company continued to expand its operations by acquiring additional meat processing plants in 2018. In 2019, HMA Group reinforced its presence in the fish export market, and in 2020, it established a pet food processing plant, which also began global exports.
In 2022, HMA Group unveiled Asia’s largest integrated slaughterhouse and meat processing facility. By 2023, the company was listed on the Indian Stock Exchange. Currently, HMA Group operates six integrated abattoirs and meat processing plants with an annual capacity of approximately 400,000 tonnes.
